About WSJ
Where the cardboard lives, and the stories behind it, matter.
We’re just a group of guys who never outgrew the thrill of the rip.
From the moment we cracked our first foil packs as kids — chasing rookies, numbered parallels, or anything shiny — the hobby had its hooks in us. Saturday mornings were for trades, card shows, and flipping through binders. We were the ones combing corner stores for fresh wax, hoping to pull something worth bragging about at school on Monday.
Now, a couple decades and a few thousand cards later, we’re still at it. But this time, we’re bringing our obsession to the page with The Wax Street Journal — a modern take on an old-school passion.
This is our digital clubhouse. Part gritty newspaper, part glossy blog. A place for collectors, sellers, and flippers alike. We cover the market, the moments, the grails — and all the cardboard in between.
If you’ve ever felt that rush from pulling a gold refractor, or the heartbreak of bending a corner on a card you just pulled… welcome home.
